Selection of air flow

First of all, the selection of air volume is related to the use of the site, population density, building  structure, etc.

For example: The area of Ordinary residential is 90㎡(S=90),the net height is 3m(H=3),and there are 5 persons(N=5) in it. If it is calculated according to “Airflow needed(per person)”,and assume that:V=30,the result is V1=N*V=5*30=150m³/h.

If it is calculated according to “Air changes per hour”,and assume that:T=0.7,the result is V2=T*S*H=0.7*90*3=189m³/h. Since V2>V1,V2 is better unit for selecting.

When selecting equipment, the leakage volume of the equipment and air duct should also be added, and 5%-10% should be added to the air supply and exhaust system.

So, the optimal air volume selection should be V3=V2*1.1=208m³/h.

Regarding the air volume selection of residential buildings, China currently chooses the number of air changes per unit time as a reference standard.

As to special industry such as hospital(surgery and the special nursing room),labs,workshops,airflow required should be determined in conformity with regulations concerned.
